Paul on his 'Something' bass playing
I was flipping through an old 'Bass Player' mag I had laying around, and found this interesting quote from our Paul: 'I don't think George (Harrison) was too pleased with what I did on "Something" at first. I had to sell it to him!'
Wow...what was that conversation like? And how did Paul come up with the bass part? Was George there, or did Paul work on it alone and come into the studio with it? 'Something' is probably Paul's greatest bass line, and I'd like to hear more.
It proves that if people would get off the same old questions ('What was John like?', 'How did it feel playing Shea Stadium?'), he's still got lots of good stories to tell.
