Over the past forty-plus years, I've been poor and flush, fat and not fat, surrounded by friends and lonely. But the Beatles' have always been there for me. With their optimistic energy, their intelligence and humor, the Beatles' have made it easier to get through the hard times.

So put on a Beatles record or film, and you'll forget your troubles for a while. And maybe some of their cocky attitude will rub off on you. Remember George in A Hard Day's Night when the advertising man is showing him those grotty shirts? He told George that, 'You can be replaced, chickie baby.' And George replied, 'I don't care'.
