The Beatles Oscar for "Let it be"

As Oscar time approaches, let's not forget that among the many awards won by the Fabs, they also won an Academy Award for "Best Original Song Score" in 1970 for their film Let it be.

While many performers would give their right arm for an Oscar, put it at the top of their resumes, and capitalize on it for the rest of their careers, for the Beatles it was merely a footnote to their illustrious career. It barely gets a mention when one speaks of them.

For a list of their many various awards and nominations, check out the link over to your right called "Beatle Awards". It's an impressive list.
